Wood Buffalo National Park

While Wood Buffalo may be the largest park in Alberta, Banff is certainly the most popular. It’s actually the most popular national park in all of Canada, and for very good reason. Maligne Canyon
In the northern end of Jasper National Park, you’ll find one of the most incredible natural wonders in Alberta. Maligne Canyon is a stunning geological formation, the deepest canyon in the park at about 55 meters. During the warmer months, you can enjoy the amazing waterfall running through the canyon, but winter is just as breathtaking. During the colder months, you can enjoy some gorgeous ice formations and, if you’re brave, take part in an ice climbing expedition. Peyto Lake
When you hear about Banff National Park, you often hear about Lake Louise, an incredible place to canoe, hike, and enjoy a picnic with the family. An amazing destination, Lake Louise can be more crowded during tourist months, and if you’re looking for something a bit less traveled, check out Peyto Lake.
You’ll find Peyto Lake just about an half hour’s drive up Icefields Parkway. This lake is slightly larger than Lake Louise, but what really stands out about it is it’s intense blue-green color. Seriously, the coloring is almost inconceivable until you see it yourself in person. For a natural experience that will leave you stunned, Peyto Lake is a must-see.
