Samsung Galaxy S21- What to expect?
Samsung typically announces two flagship smartphones every year. The categories are the Galaxy S and the Galaxy Note. Galaxy Note 20 was unveiled on five August and people are now waiting for the Galaxy S 21. In the beginning the naming strategy for Samsung galaxy’s devices was easy to predict as the company was following a sequence. After Samsung jumped from Galaxy S10 to Galaxy S20 in 2020 it is not hard to determine what next Galaxy S is going to be.
Release date and price
It is expected that the phone is going to be launched in mid-January. Samsung usually announces it soon in March but there have been reports that the device will arrive in January 2021. Rumors are that there will be a Galaxy unpacked event on 14th January that will show off the new devices and within the on sale date of end-January they will launch it.
The price that is expected to be for Galaxy S21 5G 128GB is €879.
The price that is expected to be for Galaxy S21+ 5G 128GB is €1079.
It looks like Samsung will launch the smartphones at an affordable price. It is because there were very slow sales of S20 models and that is why the company wants to have more sales, so they are not going over the top about the price of the phones but trying to improve the features overall.
Design
The biggest design change that is expected from the Galaxy S 21 is that the camera will reach to the edges of the frame. There have been League of Renders photos of Galaxy S21 ultra. The other change that is expected is that the rear of the phone will switch to a plastic panel rather than glass. Samsung did make this change in Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20, but it is not a problem because in order to bring down the price there is something that needs to be done.
Colors
The colors of the phone are expected to be Gray, pain, Violet and white for the Galaxy S21 model. Whereas black silver and wallet with pink are expected to be for Galaxy S21 +. However not all of these colors will be available in all of the regions there is a possibility that some of these colors will only be available in Korea.
Display
The display sizes for the Galaxy S21 and S21+ will be the same as the previous generation at 6.2 and 6.7-inches, respectively. it is expected that full HD plus resolution will be introduced and this is another cost saving measure to help Samsung keep the price down as it did with S 20 in 2020. Samsung is moving along from the curved edges to the flat display; it also helps to keep the price down while providing a point of differentiation in the newly launched phones.
Both displays are reported to come with a peak brightness of 1400 nits.
Hardware and specs
Samsung Galaxy S21 an S21+ to be powered with the Exynos 2100 in some regions and the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 in others. it has been claimed that there are going to be two options of storage one of 128 GB and 256GB. The S21 is going to come with 8GB ram as a base model. When we talk about battery capacities the Galaxy S21+ will have a bump to 4800mAh, while the S21 could come with a 4000mAh capacity. It is expected that both these devices are said to support 25W charging, with a 15W charger in the box.
